Where My Art Begins

painting_intro23.png

My art begins with a feeling — inspired by the quiet patterns of nature and the small, meaningful moments of everyday life. I translate these emotions into visual forms through objects, places, and the atmosphere of a memory. By blending these elements, I create work that lives at the intersection of nature, memory, and personal experience.

Bubble ME

The Soap Bubble Person began as an image 20 years ago, born from a desire to place myself within my artwork. Rather than depicting a direct self-portrait, I wanted to find a symbolic character that represented how I felt about myself. After much contemplation, I came to associate my sense of self with a soap bubble with legs—something that seemed certain in form, yet hollow inside. At times, I felt anxious and strange, and in an odd way, those feelings mirrored the image of a bubble with legs.

Over the past two decades, as my life evolved, so did I. The fragile, elusive version of myself still exists, but as I grew older and became a mother, I discovered a new version of me—stronger, more grounded. To represent this shift, I introduced a contrasting character: a steel marble.

This new figure stands for the solidity and resilience I’ve developed, juxtaposed against the fragile, airy nature of the soap bubble. Together, they reflect the coexistence of vulnerability and strength, emptiness and fullness within me.
